AtoZ Challenge: Z - From A to Z at the Library

Greetings from Hannibal, MO, Mark Twain's boyhood hometown, my theme for this year's AtoZ Challenge.

I've saved the best for last, the place where you can find books titled from A to Z. The Hannibal Free Public Library was built in 1845, Missouri's first tax free supported public library.

Hannibal Free Public Library

Now that the challenge is officially over, I'm ready for a break from blogging. You will find me near the Mississippi taking photos and yelling at my kids, "Get down from there; you're going to get hurt!" Good luck to everyone's writing endeavors. I've enjoyed the variety of blogs: book reviewers, writers, gardeners, travel junkies, movie junkies, 80s junkies, math junkies, and puppy enthusiasts!

Enjoy the view...

If you want to keep current with each other's blogs and are sad to see the AtoZ Challenge end, you can always join Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Support Group. We post the first Wednesday of each month. We discuss our fears, our triumphs, and, well, our insecurities. I'll see you next Wednesday!

  1. What a grand building - very fitting for a library. My local city library is an imposing building - grand, as well, but almost like it wants to put people off going inside!

    Enjoy your blogging break :-)

    1. It really is a cool building. I like to lurk in the downstairs beyond the children's department (ok, now I sound creepy;-) where you can really see the old architecture shining through.

  11. Yay. Great finish. I love seeing libraries from other places. I think there will be a HUGE break in the blogging community. I'll go back to my M, W, F schedule but I have a lot of stuff I have to do for others on my blog because of telling everyone they had to wait 'til May for me to be able to help them!

  12. Now that's an impressive library. My hometown library was a rickety little wooden shack, and my current one is in the same building as a public pool. It always smells like chlorine.

Congratulations on making it to the end! I may see you next Wednesday...

  27. Hello there.
Congratulations on completing the challenge! Thanks for visiting me along the way. Back in my school years, I used to spend as much time as possible in our local library - I've always been a bookworm. It was nothing as huge as this place! I'm popping over today from the Road Trip.
