JUNE #IWSG: We Made It!!

First Wed of Every Month

Remember, the question is optional!!!

June 2 question - For how long do you shelve your first draft, before reading it and re-drafting? Is this dependent on your writing experience and the number of stories/books under your belt?

The awesome co-hosts for the June 2 posting of the IWSG are J Lenni Dorner, Sarah Foster, Natalie Aguirre, Lee Lowery, and Rachna Chhabria!

I hope everyone is doing well! Today marks the last day of school for me. (Passes out. What a crazy year!!!!) With out-of-town family, an anniversary, and a kid's birthday coming up, I've been swamped. I welcome summer vacation. Between all the fun and family, I hope to get in some fresh writing over the next couple of months. To answer the above question, I don't usually take too long after the first several drafts are done before I begin re-drafting. It's an endless process.

Any summer plans? Anyone else ready to start summer vacay?

  1. I remember those wonderful summer days as a teacher. Now, I teach online, year-round. Sigh. Enjoy your summer!

  2. Ah, summer. Going to San Diego to see my daughter!! Going to Chicago to see a BFF I haven't seen since pre-pandemic. Going to Texas to see another BFF, this one a writer. We will drink wine and talk about the books we aren't writing. 🤣
