March #IWSG: March Madness
Come join Alex J. Cavanaugh and the Insecure Writer's Support Group. We discuss our fears, insecurities, ups and downs of the writing process and post the first Wednesday of every month! http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com/p/the-insecure-writers-support-group.html
Do you find yourself doing too much of this? That's my kid by the way. I would tell him to get off his phone, but I'm probably texting him to take out the trash.
And not enough of this?
Do you feel like your life is moving slower than these guys?
Or maybe you feel like this little guy--stuck playing the same song over and over?
Maybe the storms are rolling in faster than you can dive for cover.
March is full of madness and we've only just begun! Yesterday morning we experienced ten seconds of sleet followed by the tornado sirens blaring all over town. I'm in the editing cave right now working on my WIP: a paranormal MG mystery. Make the most of this month. Get off your phone unless you're reminding your kids to do the dishes. And get your storm shelter stocked with plenty of coffee, spare pens and paper.
What are you working on this month? Keeping up with your writing goals for this year?

I'm doing my damnedest to get my new book out by the end of the month, and as long as the family stays healthy it should be doable (everyone was out for 2 weeks with a flu in February). I will probably have to skip the a to z blog challenge to make it happen, but them's the breaks.
ReplyDeleteThe flu is not fun. I'm skipping the a to z challenge too. Oldest kid is graduating. Two months to prepare!
DeleteTornado sirens are always scary.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your edits!
Thanks! I love editing. Hate writing that first draft.
DeleteThis month is already shaping up to be full of madness for me. I hope I survive. I hope we all do!
ReplyDeleteYou will! We will! Let the madness begin!
DeleteThis is so cool. I really like how you got your point across. I'm right with you. Working on the last seven chapters of my first manuscript with my writing coach/book editor. So, I wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!
Shalom,
Patricia
Wishing you all the best too!
DeleteGlad there are no tornadoes here. My phone is usually off, so no texting for me.
ReplyDeleteGood on both accounts!
DeleteWow, we had a gorgeous day in Pennsylvania yesterday, and it looks like another one today. March is coming in like a lamb -- but you never can tell. The worst blizzard in my memory came on March 15 in 1993.
ReplyDeleteI hope to complete the first draft of my WIP before the end of March.
I'm hoping to complete edits by the end of the month. Hoping is the key word.
DeleteI am desperately hoping that I meet my writing and reading goals for this year. Fingers crossed, wait, make that toes crossed (I won't be able to type with crossed fingers ;) )
ReplyDeleteGood idea! And, yes, you can do it!
DeleteI LOVE your pictures and your comments... technology is both a bonus and an excuse not to connect directly with people. Now stay safe and don't blow away in the storm. I think a portion of that wind ended up in Washington State yesterday! Thanks for the fun post.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Son doesn't know he made it into the blog post today. :)
DeleteMarch IS madness! Of course, so is February and January and December and every other month of the year. Still, it's going to be the most epic March of all of 2016, right? My blog post today talks about about what I'm working on. Here's to keeping ahead of the crazy!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Writing with kids is madness.
DeleteHa! I don't quite fit that profile yet, but mostly because my young children run me haggard that I can't get much screen time in anyways. But I do see the screen effect in every day life, and I try to make conscious effort to look up now and then. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to put that phone down when you're in the writing business.
DeleteI'm supposed to be doing March Madness but I haven't started yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't touched my novel in several days. Sigh. And today doesn't look good either. I'll get back to it. Eventually.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie your son is - he'll break hearts! My life isn't like the turtles, I AM the turtles. I started off gangbusters on a new novel last month, only to be stuck down by an abscessed tooth, dental visits and drugs, and now my "O" key keeps falling off the keyboard. Argh! I hope I get back into the swing next week...
ReplyDeleteI'm a teacher and we started off the month with state testing. I have many things planned for this month, so there'll be madness.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures :-) I place myself in the role of the turtles, slow and steady. Writing everyday, just not writing that much. The madness comes from spring cleaning, and chasing after a toddler.

Good luck with the storms! I'm trying for the slow and steady approach - not gone too mad yet.
ReplyDeleteGeeze, I teared up over that! Good luck on the graduation activities! See you next month! I'm your co-host, Viola Fury, aka Mary
ReplyDeletevery good and nice sharing this article and good for all people
