AtoZ Challenge: P - Parks & Rec and a Puppy

Picture

Greetings from Hannibal, MO, Mark Twain's boyhood hometown, my theme for this year's AtoZ Challenge.

City Hall-Parks & Rec

We have our very own Parks and Rec inside City Hall in downtown Hannibal. Yes, this is another photo taken in a drive-by. I'm getting pretty good at snapping pictures while driving. I highly do not recommend this activity unless you're a professional (ha!) or you're stopped at a red light.

We have a gazillion parks all sporting names like Huckleberry Park, Mark Twain Landing, Sawyer's Creek, which is actually not a park, but you get the idea. This city loves to take advantage of the famous author.

Huckleberry Park - Feed the geese at your own risk.

Because you needed a couple pics of a puppy today, I wanted you to meet Mylo. Be jealous. We get to dogsit him this weekend. Our family doesn't own a dog, cat, bird, iguana. Why have pets when you can have teenage boys instead? Some of you prefer pets.

Big plans for the weekend? Do you have any pets? Teenagers? Both?

  1. Aww puppy! Well, pets are usually much cleaner and quieter than teenage boys. But with teenage boys in the house, I could see why you wouldn't want to add a pet to the chaos!

  2. Cute pup, we love our animals like kids and I cannot imagine the teens letting you squeeze them.. like the puppy.

  5. I love puppies. I wish I could just borrow one for a couple if days then give it back. \

I'm about 10 years away from having a teenage boy. I don't think I'll be able to give him back.

    1. I'm 10 yrs away from having a teenage girl. I won't be ready. As far as the boys, stock pile now while you can. Buy a farm, become Amish, raise chickens and cows. Seriously, the food bill...

  7. What an adorable puppy. If my kids saw him, they'd want to bring him home!

  9. I'm into borrowing pets. I borrow my neighbor's dog to take on a hike once in a while. I take care of my friend's cat now that I'm down to zero. Right now that's working. I do miss having pets, but I need to take a break.

  11. The only teenagers I have are the ones I borrow in classrooms. And return at the end of the day.

  13. The people who name these places obviously realised they were onto a winner and ran with it. ;-)

That puppy is very cute. Bet there was lots of fun this weekend.

  14. Both! They all get along great, and we count a puppy among our number. They're easier to keep entertained with lots of pals to play with.

  16. What's the point of having a famous author if you can't boast about them! The puppy photos are so cute :-)

I love that building though. I like stone and brick. Buildings that last.
